The fate of anilophos [S-4-chlorophenyl N-isopropyl carbaniioyl methyl] O, O-dimethyl phosphorodithioate has been studied in methanol-water solution under UV light (λ > 254 nm). The photoproducts were isolated and characterized by1 H NMR, IR and GC-MS. Under these conditions, anilophos underwent hydrolytic cleavage of phosphoryl ester and amide linkage and the photoconversion of P = S to P = O.
