Abstract

Residue of lindane and fenvalerate on vegetable pea (var. PH-1) is reported. Lindane 20 EC C 404 (normal) and 800 g (double the normal) a.i. ha−1 and fenvalerate e.4% dust @ 75 (normal) and 150 g (double the normal) a.i. ha−1 were applied in separate plots twice i.e. four wk after germination and at pod initiation stage for controlling insect-pest complex of pea crop. Residue of lindane varied from 0.006–0.008 mg g−1 in pea grains of 1st, 2nd and 3rd pickings done 5, 6 and 7 wk after 2nd spray. The fenvalerate residue were below detectable level in the pea grains of corresponding pickings. Application of lindane and fenvalerate at recommended doses can be considered safe.
