Monocrotophos (MCP) strength and the impurities in its technical material have been found to influence its degradation during storage. MCP solutions in cyclohexanone were more stable than those in acetone, isopropanol or ethanol. The degradation was the least in samples stored in aluminium containers followed by glass and high density polyethylene. Storage under refrigerated condition considerably checked MCP degradation.
