Abstract

Fate of l4C-permethrin was studied in a model agro-ecosystem. One month old cowpea plants when sprayed @ 200ga.i. ha−1, left after 30 d of fxperrment t5.3, 32.1 and 3328% of fhe eaplied amount in soil, plant and air respectively. Of the total activity recovered from the plants, 85.4% was in the free or extractable form and the rrmaining 11% iinound dr unextractable form. II noil, as much as 46.3% residue remained in the bound form. There was littte or no leaching of residue beyond 15 cm soil depth.
