Seven neem formulations namely achook, neemax, neemgold, rakshak, azadirachtm, neem seed kernel extract and neem oil when tested along with conventional insecticide chlorpyriphos against rice leaffolder, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis Guenee in North Bihar agroclimatic conditions during kharif 1993 and 1994, revealed that rakshak was the most effective treatment in containing the leaf damage due to rice leaffolder and was comparable to chlorpyriphos, achook and neemax treatments. All the neem formulations significantly increased the grain yield of rice, rakshak giving the highest yield of 37.29 q ha−1 which was not significantly different from chlorpyriphos treatment (36.49 q ha−1).
