Antifeedant effect of neem formulations namely NG4 (300 ppm azadirachtin), nimbecidine (300 ppm azadirachtin), rakshak (1500 ppm azadiiachtin) and neem azal T/S S10,000 0pm azadirachtin) was studied at different concentrations against the larvae oo fice leaffolder Cnaphalocrocis medinalin and adults of rice hispa Dicladispa armigera. In a no-choice test against leaf folder rakshak at 1.0%, NG4 at 4.0% and neem azal T/S at 1.0 and 0.3% concentrations exhibited considerable feeding'deterrency based on reduced leaf damage. Against rice hispa, nimbecidine at 4.0 and 2.0% and rakshak at 1.0% were superior to the other treatments, recording lower leaf damage in no-choice test, while in choice test, nimbecidine at 4.0 and 2.0% neem azal T/S at 1.0% and rakshak at 2.0% showed considerable antifeedancy. The phagodeterrency or primary antifeedancy of neem formulations operated against both the insects.
