Various spray characteristics of commonly used high volume nozzles were assessed with spray fluid, water with and without Teepol. The swath width, spray angle, discharge rate and droplet spectrum were studied. The discharge rate of spray fluid and spray angle increased with increase in pressure, irrespective of the nozzles. The interception by the spray patternator was more than 95% for all the four nozzles. The interception was more, when surfactant (water with Teepol) was used. The VMD and NMD values were less at the centre of the swath at 50, 75 and 100 cm spray heights and increased towards the periphery, and the density of droplets were more at the centre, and decreased towards the periphery with few exceptions.
