Abstract

Several substituted-1, 3, 4-oxathiolo [5,4-d]-thiazoles, 1,3-dithiolo [4, 5-d]-thiazoles and thiazolo [4, 5-d]-thiazole-2-thiones have been synthesised by intramolecular chemoselective heterocyclization of-2, 3-diaryl-4-thiazolidinone-5-yl-N-aryl dithiocarbamate with CH31, cone. H2SO4 and NaOH, respectively. The antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger and Fusarium oxysponum was studied and compared with Dithane M-45. Based on antifungal activity data a possible structure activity relationship has been discussed.
