Abstract

A gas chromatographic method for the analysis of residues of flufenacet (FOE 5043), a herbicide, in soil, water, grains and plant samples has been developed. The recoveries in samples fortified at levels between 0.01 and 1.0 ppm, varied from 80–90% in water, 82–93% in soil, 80% in cauliflower and 81–94% in wheat and mustard grains. Since, recoveries in most of substrates are above 80%, the method could be recommended for the analysis of flufenacet residues in food commodities and environmental samples.
