Abstract

Based on the laboratory tests carried with custard apple and neem extracts, different formulations were developed and tested on Rabi groundnut crop against tobacco caterpillar, spodoptera litura. Among custard apple formulations, annona oil concentrate 2.5 EC and among neem formulations NSKE 1500 EC reduced the foliage damage, larval population and egg masses in the field and increase the pod yield i.e. 22.85 q ha−1 and 19.71 q ha−1, respectively, when compared to 17.0 q ha−1 of control. The pod yield was 26.74 q ha−1 and 24.76 q ha−1 in annona oil concentrate solvent based 2.5 EC + Neem oil 1500 EC and annona oil 72 EC + NSKE 1500 EC formulation, respectively.
