Abstract

A field experiment using flufenoxuron @ 30 and 60 g a.i. ha−1 was conducted on tea [Cv. Tv. -9 (Assam Clone)] during pre-monsoon, monsoon and pre-monsoon season in 1996–97. The estimation of flufenoxuron residues in made tea and liquor was carried out using GLC. Dissipation of flufenoxuron followed first order kinetics. The initial deposits in made tea were in the range of 1.21–2.34 μg ml−1 for the low dose and 2.91–5.41 μg ml−1 for the higher dose. After 7 d the residue remaining in made tea was found in the range of 0.07–0.09 μg ml−1 for lower dose and 0.11–0.34 μg ml−1 for higher dose. The pesticide was non-detectable in 14 d sample of made tea.
