A field experiment was carried out during Kharif 1997–98 to evaluate the bio-efficacy of four test insecticides viz., triazophos (350 & 700 g a.i. ha−1), acephate (1000 & 1500 g a.i. ha−1), cypermethrin (150 & 300 g a.i. ha−1) and imidacloprid (50 & 70 g a.i. ha−1) against major pest complex of chilli. Imidacloprid at 70 g a.i. ha−1 was the best treatment in controlling aphids. Acephate 1500 g a.i. ha−1 was effective in controlling thrips. Cypermethrin 300 g a.i. ha−1 was adjudged to be the most effective insecticide against borers.
