Abstract

Studies on the persistence of lindane and dichlorvos was conducted on apple fruits (Red Gold) at two locations i.e. Nauni and Mashobra. Lindane and dichlorvos were applied on fruit bearing apple trees @ 0.5 and 1.0 kg a.i. ha−1 twice at 15 d interval. Fruit samples were collected for residue analysis after second spray. Initial deposits of lindane 1.374–2.618 mgkg−1 were below the MRL of 3 mgkg−1 and persisted for more than 20 days. Whereas, initial deposits of dichlorvos 1.298–2.89 mgkg−1 became non detectable in 10 d sampled fruits. Waiting period for dichlorvos on apple fruits was extrapoilated to 8 d at 0.1 mg kg−1 MRL.
