Eight essential oils collected from various plant sources were tested on potatoes stored at room temperature for sprouting and rotting inhibition activities Essential oils of pine, artemisia, neem and Chinaberry produced significant sprout inhibition activity (40 - 60% inhiition after 6 weeks), whereas pine, artemisia and turmeric oils protected potatoes from rotting for a longer period.
