Abstract

Harvest time residue of imidacloprid was studied as seed treatment as well as foliar application on bhendi fruits (Abelmoschus ssculentus). No residue of imidacloprid was detected from the harvested fruit from the plots where the seeds and foliar applications were made. Dissipation of imidacloprid 200 SL on bhendi fruits following its application @ 20, 40 and 80 g a.i. ha−1 was also studied. The residue of imidacloprid persisted upto the third day in 20 and 40 g a.i. ha−1, while from the highest dose of imidacloprid 200 SL (80 g a.i. ha−1) residue persisted upto 5d in the fruits. The safe waiting period was found to be 0.89, 2.34 and 3.52 d in the respective treatments in the first experiment and 1.40, 2.24 and 3.47 d, respectively in the second field experiment at 20, 40 and 80 g a.i. ha−1 of foliar spray.
