Methanolic extracts of sixteen plant species belonging to 12 families were screened in vitro for the antifungal property against five seed-borne fungi, viz,. Colletotrichum graminicola (Ces.) Wils, Drechslera sorokiniana (Sacc.) Subram. &]ain, Fusarium solani (Mart.) Sacc, Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid. and Phomopsis sojae Leh. The extracts of Vitex negundo (leaf), Calotropis gigantea and C. procero (roots) were found to be most fungitoxic and promising for plant disease management.
Plant extracts, seed-borne fungi, anti-fungal
