Pendimethalin@ 1.00 kg ha−1 controlled weeds effectively and the yields were comparable to hand weeding followed by metolachlor. However fluazifop-p-butyl could control only grassy weeds. The residues of pendimethalin persisted in soil up to 60 d only. The half-lives were 31.32 and 32.27 d by chemical assay method during two-year study period.
