Abstract

The survey for identifying resistance was taken up at three villages of Varanasi vicinity representing high insecticide input (Karsara), medium insecticide input (Madaon) and almost no insecticide input (Tikari) using vial method of assay. Fenvalerate and monocrotophos were taken up for resistance monitoring. Karsara, Madaon and Tikari villages witnessed moderate to high levels of resistance towards fenvalerate and monocrotophos. In general, higher resistance was observed in Karsara and Madaon in comparison to Tikari for both the insecticides tested.
