A total of fifteen samples of feed and fodder were analyzed and no residues were detected in fodder samples. However, the feed samples were contaminated with lindane (0.025–0.041 mg kg−1), ß-endosulfan (0.028 mg kg−1) and endosulfan sulphate (0.045–0.049 mg kg−1) residues. Eleven butter samples (non-branded) were collected from local markets and were analyzed in duplicate for the presence of residues of organochlorines, synthetic pyrethroids and organophosphorus insecticides. Out of these, three samples were contaminated with p,p’-DDE (0.051 - 0.069 mg kg−1) and γ-HCH (0.049–0.058 mg kg−1) one each with p.p’-DDT (0.055 mg kg−1), α-HCH (0.045 mg kg−1), α-endosulfan (0.078 mg kg−1) and endosulfan sulphate (0.075 mg kg−1).
