Biological Control of Cattle Tick, Boophilus Microplus by Entomopathogenic Fungus Beauveria Bassiana

Abstract

In-vitro trials were carried out to evaluate the entomopathogenicity of Beauveria aassiana to Boophilus microplus ttcks. Four propagules concentrations of the fungus i.e. 108 so 105 per ml of aqueous and Soya oil suspensions were used in bioassays. B. bassiana was found to be highly virulent causing 100% mortality of ticks both in oil and aqueous suspensions.
