Field experiment was carried out during summer season 1999 to evaluate the bioefficacy of β-cyfluthrin (@ 12.50, 18.75 and 25.00 g a.i. ha−1) along with endosulfan (@ 500 g a.i ha−1) and cypermethrin (@ 300 g a.i ha1) against brinjal shoot and fruit borer (Leucinodes orbonalis Guen) on brinjal (var. Pusa Purple Long (PPL)). All the insecticidal treatments gave effective control of shoot and fruit borer and increased yield of fruits over control. β-Cyfluthrin persisted upto 15 days on brinjal fruits with half-life of 2.21–3.12 days. A waiting period of 6–10 days is recommended for various doses of β-cyfluthrin.
