Abstract

The residues of carbofuran and its metabolites 3- hydroxy and 3-keto carbofuran in peel and pulp of sweet orange were studied and compared with the maximum residue levels. Carbofuran 3G, @ 4 and 6 kg ai ha1 were applied in sandy loam soil of citrus orchard during August. Peel and pulp of the fruit were processed separately. The carbofuran residues (parent compound, 3- hydroxy carbofuran and 3-keto carbofuran) were derivatised and estimated by GLC-ECD. Residues were found to be below MRL value of 0.10 µg g−1 in peel as well as pulp.
