Secondary metabolites from dried myceiia of Paecilomyces lilacinus were isolated using various extraction solvents. Nematicidal tests of the crude extracts were conducted in vitro against freshly hatched second stage juveniles of root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incogntta and Rotylenchulus reniformis. Methanol extract was found to be more active against both M. incognita and R. reniformis. The LC50 value against M. incognita was 84.2 µg ml−1 at 24 h, 122.4 µg ml−1 at 48 h and 68.1 µg ml−1 at 72 h. The activity of the methanol extract against R. reniformis was found to be 91.4,127.5 and 54.4 µg ml−1 at 24, 48 and 72 h, respectively.
