Abstract

The effect of insecticide resistance on the biology of A gossypii was studied by comparing the biology of relatively resistant aphid polulation of Warangal district to that of relatively susceptible Kurnoop polulation. The relatively resistant aphid population of Warangal district produced more number of nymphys (8.10) with longer nymphal period (9 d) and total life cycle (21.65 d) as compared to relatively susceptible Kurnool population (16.45 nymphs, 8 d and 20.20 d). The level of resistance did not influence the morphometric paramenter of the aphid.
