Abstract

Multilocational trials were conducted under All India Network Project on Pesticide Residues at four locations in India. Recommended and double doses (96 and 192 g ai ha−1) of spiromesifen were applied on apple. Initial deposits of spiromesifen on apple were 0.91, 0.99, 0.99 and 0.88 mg kg−1 at recommended doses in Solan, Mashobra, Matiana and Thanedhar, respectively. Half-life of the insecticide on apple evaluated at different locations was found to be in the range of 5–6 days at recommended dose. Schedules were found safe as theoretical maximum residues contribution (TMRC) on 0 day (1 h after spray) calculated at the recommended dose on apple was found to be well below the maximum permissible intake (MPI).
