Refluxing of 2-hydroxy-1 -naphthalanilines (Ia-VIa) with FeCl3 resulted in the formatton of fespecttve iion complexes (Ib-VIb). On the basis of analytical data and IR studies, a 1:3 metal lo llgand stoichiometry has been suggested. The complexes (Ib-Vlb) along with the precursor naphthalanilines were screened for antifungal activity against Alternaria alternata, Fusarium oxysporum and dolletotrichum capsici by spore germination onhibition method. It has been observed that complexation with iron enhances the antifungal potential of the parent compounds manifold.
