Persistence of deltamethrin was evaluated on two varieties, WH-147 and HD 2687 of wheat grains during storage under laboratory conditions. Wheat grains were treated @ 40 mg kg−1 with deltamethrin and stored in jute and polythene bags for 150 days. Residues reached below MRL value of 2 mg kg−1 in grains stored in jute as well as polythene bags with in 150 days in both the varieties. Degradation was faster in grains stored in jute bags as compared to polythene bags. The insecticide did not affect the germination in the treated wheat grains.
