Abstract

Efficacy of fosetyl-Al and metalaxyl was compared with copper oxychloride, captan, bordeaux paste and bordeaux mixture for management of gummosis in Nagpur mandarin caused by Phytophthora spp. Stem pasting with metalaxyl @ 50 g L−1 pasted up to 1 m height of the trunk region from ground level was found significantly effective, where complete oozing was stopped. Stem pasting with fosetyl-Al @ 50 g L−1 was found as the next effective treatment to reduce disease index (8.2%) but was statistically at par with metalaxyl spraying @ 0.2% (9.6% disease index) or fosetyl-AI spraying @ 0.2% (14.1% disease index). Untreated bark had 34.8% disease severity. Non-significant differences were recorded in canopy volume and average fruit numbers in different treatments including untreated check.
