Abstract

Laboratory studies were carried out to investigate dissipation kinetics of trifluralin (treflan 48 EC) @ 0.5 and 1.0 μg ml−1 in water at 8.3 and 6.0 pH. In 165 days, dissipation was 77–78% at pH 8.3 and 73–75% at pH 6.0 in both the treatments. Kinetic studies reveled that dissipation of trifluralin residues followed a biphasic first order kinetics in water at both pH and two spiking levels. The half-life observed at pH 8.3 were 9.31 and 9.40 days for phase I and 110 and 113 days for phase II. At pH 6.0, half-life were 10.03 and 10.24 for phase I and 125 and 129 days for phase II.
