Abstract

A laboratory study on ovicidal effect of seed extracts of custard apple Annona squamosa L. revealed that ethyl acetate and hexane extracts were relatively more effective in causing egg mortality against rice moth, Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton) and khapra beetle, Trogoderma granarium Everts, respectively. The LC50 values for hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts were 0.2183,0.1138 and 0.2857% against rice moth and 0.0327,0.1469 and 0.0801% against khapra beetle, respectively.
