Abstract

A laboratory trial was conducted to assess the efficacy of some pesticides alone and in combination against slug pest, Laevicaulis alte (Ferussac)) The study revealed that the combination of metaldehyde granules (2.5 G) and carbofuran (3 G) @ 0.75 kg ai ha−1 exhibited 99.3% mortality at 48 h and proved superior over others. The next best effective treatments were metaldehyde granules (2.5 G) followed by metaldehyde pellets (2.5 G) and combination of metaldehyde granules (2.5 G) with phorate (10 G). The application of phorate (10 G) alone @ 1 kg ai ha−1 was found to be least effective against slug pest.
