Abstract

A large scald non-replicated field trial was laid out in Pulladigunta village, Guntur District Andhra Pradesh, to demonstrate utility of pyrethroids in cotton pest management. Pyrethroids were used as need based” sprays and rotated with other groups of insecticides. Highest yield of 3756 kg/ha was obtained in Set III where pyrethroids were sprayed four times between 55- 120 days after sowing (DAS) followed by Set II (3418 kg/ha) where pyrethroids were sprayed three times between 55–120 DAS and in Set I where pyrethroids were sprayed twice between 55.-120 DAS, the yield was 3227 kg/ha, the lowest between the three sets.
