Twenty four new Ni-aryloxyacetyl/aroyl-3-rnethyl-5-pyrazolone-aroyl/aryloxyacetyl hydrazones (1–24), ten Ni-aryloxyacetyl/aroyl-3-methyl-4-thioanilido-5-pyrazolones (25–34) and ten N1-aroyl/aryloxyacetyl-3-methyl-4-ary]ideno/α-methylarylideno- 5-pyrazolone- dibromides (35–44) have been prepared. Some of them have been screened for their antifungal activity against two fungi, viz. A. niger and H. oiyzae and found to be antifungal. The activity of the compounds 10, 14, 18 and 19 was comparable to carbendazim at 1000 ppm.
