Monitoring of HCH and DDT-R in Groundnut and Sesamum Oils

Abstract

Monitoring study revealed that all groundnut and sesamum oil samples taken from different districts of Tamil Nadu were found to be contaminated with HCH isomers and DDT-R. The mean, median and 90th percentile values of HCH are 1.36, 0.76 and 3.73 in sesamum oil and 0.36, 0.35 and 0.65 mg/kg in groundnut oil and those of DDT are 032, 0.14 and 0.60 in sesamum oil and 0.15, 0.11 and 0.30 mg/kg in groundnut oil.
