Effect of different solvent extracts (hexane, ethyl acetate, acetone and methanol) of roots of Decalepis hamiltoni were evaluated for fungicidal activity against grain borne fungi such as A. flavus, A. parasiticus, P. rubrum ana F. moniliforme. Hexane was found to be more suitable in recovering the active principle responsible for fungicidal activity. Further, the supernatant fraction of hexane extract was found to possess antifungal components. A. flavus was more sensitive than other three fungal strains evaluated. The activity of the extracts were almost comparable to that of fungicide carbendazim.
