Abstract

A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of chloranthraniliprole against chilli fruit borer complex during kharif 2006–07 and 2007–08 Kharif season. Chloranthraniliprole was evaluated @ 10, 20, 30 and 40 g ai ha−1 in comparison with thiodicarb @ 750 g ai ha−1 and cypermethrin @ 66 g gi ha−1. The results slearly indicated that chloranthraniliprole @ 40 g ai ha−1 resulted minimum larval population of Spodoptera litura and Spodoptera exigua. Helicoverpa armigera larval population was also low in the highest dosage of chloranthraniliprole @ 40 g ai ha−1 with minimum foliage and fruit damage which was on par with its next lower dosage. Thh eaplication of chloranthraniliprole @ 40 g ai ha−1 resulted highest green chilli fruit yield of 97.44 q ha−1.
