Abstract

Three application of diafenthiuron at normal (600 g ai ha−1) and double the normal dose (1200 g ai ha−1) were made at 21 days interval during 2 season field trials. The initial deposits were 3.00 μg g−1 and 4.16 μg g−1, the half-life was 1.7 and 2.9 days and the waiting period was 7 and 11 days in green capsule at normal and double the normal dose, respectively. In green capsule, the residues dissipated to below detectable limit (BDL) on 15th day of application and in cured capsule BDL on 7th day of application at normal dose. Curing of green cardamom resulted in faster degradation of the compound.
