Abstract

A simple HPLC method for the analysis of residues of kresoxim-methyl in food commodities ie grape, paddy grain and paddy straw, soil and water. The method involved extraction of the samples using acetone, clean-up by liquid-liquid partitioning with dichloromethane followed by adsorption column chromatography using silica gel as adsorbent and the final estimation by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV detector. The method gave good recoveries ranging between 70–100%, with no interference from matrix co-extractives and with achievable limit of determination as 0.02 μg g−1.
