A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of spinosad new A:D ratio against cotton thrips and bollworms during 2006–07 and 2007–08 season at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Raichur. Spinosad new A:D ratio was evaluated @ 50, 75 and 100 g ai ha−1 in comparison with spinosad 45 SC @ 75 g ai ha−1 and cypermethrin (Cyperkill) 10 EC @ 60 g ai ha−1. It is evident from the results that, spinosad 45 SC new A:D ratio @ 100 g ai ha−1 recorded highest good opened bolls of 42.53 and with lowest bad opened bolls of 11.46 per plant and which in turn reflected in highest seed cotton yield (22.83 q ha−1) which was on par with spinosad 45 SC new A:D ratio @ 75 g ai ha−1. Thus, spinosad 45 SC new A:D ratio @ 75 g ai ha−1 was found to be effective and optimum to combat cotton thrips and bollworms.
