Abstract

The new combination of pyridalyl and synthetic pyrethroid was evaluated for the management of bollworm complex ie H. armigera, Eariasspp. and P. gossypiella, for two Kharif seasons of 2006 and 2007 on Gossypium hirsutum variety, F 1378. There was significantly lower shedding of cotton bolls when pyridalyl @ 75 g ai ha−1 was used in combination with fenpropathrin and fenvalerate @ 100 g ai ha−1 each than in pyridalyl alone @ 75 g ai ha−1 with incidence of 8.0,8.2 and 8.6%, respectively. On the basis of bollworm incidence in pickable bolls, the incidence in pyridalyl + fenpropathrin varied from 9.6 to 14.9 and 5.1 to 6.5% in boll and loculi, respectively. The present study indicate that pyridalyl @ 75 g ai ha1 in combination with fenpropathrin/fenvalerate @ 100 g ai ha−1 provide effective control of bollworm complex than in pyridalyl alone with significant increase in seed-cotton yield 20.71 and 20.38 qha−1, respectively.
