Abstract

Field experiment was conducted during 2007–08 at Fertilizer Research Station, Uttaripura, C.S.A.U.A. & T. Kanpur to study the persistence of endosulfan (35 E C) @ 350 and 700 g a.i. ha−1 and profenophos (50EC) @ 800 and 1600 g a.i.ha−1 on brinjal crop with two spraying. The initial deposits were 2.15 and 2.81 mg kg−1 with 350 g and 700 ga.i. ha−1 doses of endosulfan which dissipated with the time 96 and 94% on 15th day. Initial deposits of profenophos residues were 3.89 and 4.25 mg kg−1 at 800 and 1600 g a.i. ha−1. Almost 91% residues of profenophos was dissipated on 15th day. The half life values for endosulfan and profenophos were 3.17 and 3.96 days and 4.56 and 5.22 days, respectively. Waiting period for endosulfan and profenophos were 1 and 1.18 and 6.22 and 7 days at lower and higher doses of insecticides, respectively.
