Abstract

A field experiment was conducted to study the harvest-time residues of endosulfan in/on sugarcane and soil. Four sprays of endosulfan 35 EC were carried out at 15 d interval @350 and 700 g a.i. ha−1. Residues were estimated 38 d after the last spray using GLC-ECD. At either dose of application, the residues were below determination level in sugarcane juice. However, endosulfan residues in/on leaves were 87.93 and 194.17 µg g−1 at lower and higher dose, respectively. The corresponding levels of endosulfan residues in soil at harvest were 0.033 and 0.227 µg g−1.
