Field experiments were conducted at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Lam, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh on chilli crop during 2001–02 and 2002–03 season to evaluate the efficacy of indoxacarb 15% SC against fruit borers, Helicoverpa armigera and Spodoptera exigua. In both the seasons indoxacarb @ 60, 55 and 50 g ai/ha were proved to be the best among the treatments by recording higher mean percent reduction in larval population of Spodoptera exigua with lowest percent fruit damage and recorded higher yields. Indoxacarb @ 60 and 55 g ai/ha were effective against Helicoverpa armigera by recording higher percent reduction in larval population over control. The present results suggests that indoxacarb @ 55 g ai/ha can be considered as an optimum dose for the management of fruit borers on chillies.
