Six newly synthesized organophosphorus compounds viz., three O,O-diethyl phosphoroimidates and three O,O-diethyl sulphophosphates were characterized and tested for their antifungal efficacy against the sugarcane pathogens, Colletotrichum falcatum, Fusarium oxysporum and Curvularia pallescence. These compounds show promising results in inhibiting the mycelial growth of all the test fungi at 1000 ppm. Out of these two compounds show 100% inhibition against all test fungi at 1000 ppm concentration. These derivatives also proved better than currently used synthetic fungicides.
