Abstract

For the control of slug, Filicaulis alte predominantly infestating plant nurseries and vegetable field crops at Distt. Ludhiana, Sangrur and Jalandhar, three concentrations of each poison in wheat bran bait (Recommended dose for spray, half and double) of three poisons (Isoproturon 75% WP, algicide and herbicide; Gramoxone 24% SC, herbicide and Cymbush 25% EC, insecticide) were evaluated in no-choice laboratory feeding tests. The efficacy of three poison baits in wheat bran to act as molluscicides was found in the following order: Gramoxone > Cymbush >Isoproturon. Bait with 0.4% Gramoxone proved to be the most effective poison bait resulting in 100% slug mortality within 2 d.
