The relationship between the structure of a series O,O-diaryl O-ethyl phosphorothionates and their nematicidal activity against Meloidogyne incognita and Rotylenchulus reniformis was analyzed using physicochemical parameters for hydrophobic, electronic and steric properties of the molecules by means of multiple regression analysis. The QSAR study has revealed that the nematicidal activity against both nematodes was dependent on the steric parameter of meta substituents. The STERIMOL parameters [ΣL(m)] against M. incognita and [ΣB1(m)] along with hydrophobic parameter RM against R. reniformis were found influencing the respective nematicidal activity.
