Of the evaluated nine insecticides, seed treatment with fipronil 5 SC @ 5 ml kg−1, imidacloprid 600 FS @ 3 ml kg−1 and bifenthrin 10 EC @ 2 ml kg−1 seed were found highly effective in suppression of the termite population. The treatments produced 3500 to 4420 kg ha−1 grain and 4223 to 5270 kg ha−1 straw yield. The Net Incremental Cost Benefit Ratios of these insecticides were 55.47, 36.11 and 79.72, respectively. There was no detrimental effect of the treatments on seed germination and number of tillers per plant in wheat.
