Effect of Triazophos in Controlling Root-knot Nematode Meloidogyne incognita Infesting Tomato
Abstract
Efficacy of triazophos (100 and 200 ppm) along with varying levels of farm yard manure (FYM) (5, 10 and 20% w/w) against root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita under green house conditions is reported. Shoot length and shoot weight of tomato plant showed significant improvement in the treatments over control while root weight was not affected. The number of root-knot galls decreased with an increase in level of FYM. The maximum (94%) reduction over control by triazophos (200 ppm) at FYM (5%) was recorded. Overall reduction in galls was better in the combined treatment of triazophos 100 ppm and FYM.
