Comparative bio-efficacy and phytotoxicity of certain newer and conventional insecticides is reported against pod borer Spodoptera litura and thrips, Scirtothrips dorsalis. Flubendiamide 480 SC @ 48 and 60 g a.i ha−1 against the pod borer and spirotetramate 150 OD @ 60 g a.i ha−1 followed by acephate 75% SP @ 468.75 g a.i ha−1 and metasystox 25% EC @ 187.5 g a.i ha−1 against the thrips were the best treatments. None of the treatments showed any phytotoxicity on chilli crop.
