Abstract

Spiromesifen (Oberon 240SC) sprayed twice at 7 days interval @150 and 300 g ai ha−1 and analysed for its residues on tomato fruits after the second spray revealed that the initial deposit of 0.488 and 0.730 mg kg−1, dissipated with a half-life of 2.05 and 2.29 days to become safe for harvest after 3.04 and 4.24 days respectively from the two treatments. However, based on ADI values, a safe waiting period of 3 days is recommended. Harvest time residues of spiromesifen in field soil collected after 15 days of second application, were below detectable level in both the treatments. The limit of quantification of the GC-MS method was 0.05 ppm.
